Another Jam- Packed Week!

Wow, i can't believe its been 10 days since i've last blogged. Hmm seems like time is really flying now. Either that or im too busy to notice. Anyways last Saturday night was Azmir's birthday and so by tradition, since its his 18th birthday, we went clubbing (Woohoo!). It was really fun, quite a big group of us gathered at the club, nearly half of Fast Track. Also, this time the place is much smaller and less popular compared to the one during my bday, so it ended up with only us in the club. It feels private and its like we owned it. Hmm. Anyways, i didn't drink too much this time, remembering what happened the last time, but i did drink. I danced a heck lot more this time (again, cause im not too drunk this time) and it was really a good day way to release the stress we had the week before with all the exams and drama and stuff. It was fun while it lasted. Yup. While it lasted. Towards to end, when the alcohol started kicking in, shits started to happen. For the first time in my life, i saw a lesbian french kiss LIVE. And to top it all off, i got slapped by my friend (who was a girl) and by automatic relflex reaction a retaliated and hit her back. Gawd. It was sooo ugly. Thankfully things ended well when she recovered from her grogginess and we apologised to each other and TADAA!!!! we're friends again. Sigh. Once again i stress that alcohol is the devil. Drink, but control yourself and be considerate to others, please.

Next day we sneaked out to buy Azmir's present at Smith St. Got a Nike bag plus two t-shirts. And as a bonus gift, we got him some glow in the dark "protection", just in case ;) Dinner was his treat, combined with another friend, Willix, whose birthday was a week ago. The whole Fast Track was initially invited, but only half decided to turn up, which is a good ammount. Too many means to messy. Anyways dinner was Italian, free flow of salad, pasta or pizza (Yumm!!!). Bottomless, imagine that. Its kinda like buffet, but u order stuff instead of taking them from trays and stuff. My only complain was that even though it was free flow, the flow wasnt too smooth cause every order took about half an hour to arrive. Oh well, we learnt our lesson. Next time we'll just be greedy and order A LOT at one shot in the beginning. But the food was good, and so we enjoyed ourselves and after that, we went to crown to catch a movie. Too bad The Incredibles is not out here yet, so we settled for Ocean's 12. For Msians reading, only watch this on Wednesdays at TGV. Not worth your ten bucks. Its clever, but too simple plotwise. Disappointing for the first and only movie i've watched in Melbourne.

It sounds like i'm having hols right now doesnt it? YOU"RE WRONG! That was just the weekend, and on Monday, classes are as usual. To make things even more fun, that Monday was when my oral presentation is due as well as my debate. Gosh. Oral presentation was about "pornography should not be legalised"? Should it? I don't think so. I think guys prefer to watch it illegally, just to have a more dangerous feel to it. I THINK ok? I don't know, i don't watch ;P Debate on the other hand, is about "Exams should be replaced by other forms of assessments". Once again, i agree with the topic and i think i did well despite getting trashed by the last speaker on the opposing team. Sigh. It was fun though, friends blasting back and forth at each other. How wonderful.

My, my another looooong post. I salute you if u managed to stay awake until this part of the post. Shows that either you have nothing to do, or my life is just that interesting (Yeah right!). Either way i'm gonna end it here, gotta study physics, exams next wednesday =(

DRAMA NIGHT!

Yeah! The night is finally over! For who those not know, it was the night where all 4 drama groups from Fast Track perform their plays based on the interpretion of the theme "The Heart of The Matter". I sold my tickets to Karen and George so if u guys really want to know the reviews on how it went, just ask them. Anyways, here's a complete list of what happened. Too bad i can't visualize with words, so u guys will have to wait for the DVD to see the real thing (which i am not going to show the play i acted in =P )

My group =D

02/12/04

5.30pm - We were told to prepare at our dressing rooms. It wasnt really dressing rooms, actually. It was just this place where all the groups hang out and change clothings + makeup for the girlies. Failed to serve its purpose though. Ended up being a photo-taking frenzy. It was fun though, a good way to distract us from the fact that we are gonna perform in front of a pretty big crowd in approx an hour's time.

6.15pm - Finally after anxiously waiting we were told to go the the Evan Burge Theather (btw its the place the whole thing was held) The first group went backstage, while the other 3 sit with the audience. Just informing, my group was the 3rd to perform, so i had lots of time to worry and panic and pray that nothing goes wrong.

6.30pm - Ladies and gentlement. The start of the show.

First up was "Sandra's Search", a story about this girl, Sandra (duh!) who is lost and is seeking the goals of her life. Very heartwarming, with clever comedic parts slipt in at various points of the play. Ends with a very smoothly chareographed(spelling?) musical dance of "Singing in the Rain".

First link of the night, a trio performance by Deanna'a Angels. Angga and Deanna were on guitars with Azmir on the vocals. They sang : Metallica - Nothing Else Matters, Hoobastank - The Reason, Jet - Hold On. Great performance. What else can i say?

2nd play of the night was "2050". The concept of the play is really something to think about; the goverment controlling LOVE. Which means no sex unless both parties are certified in perfect health condition. What? Anyways this is the most serious play of night, and a very dark story too. A lil humor in the middle though. Great production value with good sound effects.

Links - Puzzle-solving. Nothing much to explain here. Just invited 4 ppl to complete a puzzle which was to form a heart using 4 cardboard pieces that is carefully cut into different shapes to wobble your head. No prize given to winners though.

3rd play of the night , mine! Titled "Dayz of Our Lives". I was actually planning and copy-pasting the whole script over here but its too darn long and im pretty sure that u guys wont bother to read it till the end anyways so forget it. Its about this producer of a soap opera "Dayz of Our Lives" (ME) who is really famous and respected all around the world. He has a f***ed up personality though, and hence his staff is a lil scared of him, and he neglects his family for work. Finally he decided that he is fed up with his work and decided to go on vacation. He goes to China and Africa and after being embraced by the cultures there, he values being with the family. However , when he gets back, he is surprised to see his daughter making out with one of his staff, his son getting high on drugs, and his wife demanding a divorce (gave me a tight slap too sniff). He then regrets for not noticing what was important in life, love and family, and made a vow to change. The whole thing was really not meant to be a comedy, but it ended up being one. I think we did pretty well, it was most probably the 2nd best performance of the night. The best is coming up next.

Links reloaded - Another song this time by the dynamic duo Isnaya and Lin Bin. Performed "Dreams" by Diana Degarmo (American Idol runner-up). Fantastic vocals. When the show was over, everyone rushed back to download the mp3 =)

Final performance was by Kafaii's group entitled "Venus and Mars". This was a pure musical comedy and considering they were the most hardworking group, its hard not to see why this was the final and best performance of the night. It's really hillarious i tell you! There's really nothing much to talk about here, cause it basically has no plot. Its just mindless fun. Let's just say its about guys and girls dating, very much like "Grease". If the DVD ever reach any of you, just forward to the last play and be amazed!

The night ended rather succesdully. Everyone was feeling so accomplished, we worked so hard for the night. Once it ended everyone just rushed up at each other, hugging each other and congratulating each other. The hype didn't end there, we couldn't stop talking and spoofing about each other performances. We took the party to the outdoors where we hung out at the park, snacking on pizzas and cakes till midnight. The whole night was just somply ..... breathtaking. Definitely an unforgettable memory. It's just one of those times where u feel so good that u regret that it's gonna be over soon, when we all graduate from college. Sigh. Life's like that. I guess we just gotta enjoy it while it lasts. Till then, here's my advice : TAKE THIS PRECIOUS TIME TO ENJOY TO THE FULLEST WITH YOUR FRIENDS, AS TIMES LIKE THIS WILL NEVER COME BY AGAIN!!!
